about us

AWC is a machining and cutting job shop specializing in engineering, industrial, and decorative cutting services. Capabilities include ultra high precision CNC Waterjet machining to +/- 0.0015 inch. The working area for Waterjet cutting exceeds 4 feet X 12 feet with material height exceeding 20 inches for select jobs.

Additional capabilities include Wire EDM, 3 & 4 axis CNC milling, conventional turning, and exotic material grinding. AWC has full 3D Solids CAD/CAM capabilities for system engineering, reverse engineering, and special project manufacturing. Example software seats onsite include IDEAS, Solidworks, Esprit, Cosmos, Autodesk Suites, and various OEM packages. Manufacturing software includes MasterCam X, Esprit, and a cross section of filters for Unigraphics, Pro-E, select versions of Catia, STEP, IGES, DXF, DWG, and STL.

AWC has over 50 years in combined experience machining and designing advanced materials. AWC also has over 30 years in combined experience using and developing Abrasive Waterjet machining technology for low cost manufacturing.

History and Mission

Abrasive Waterjet & CNC Inc. (AWC) is a small business comprised of machinists, technicians, and engineers with extensive background in waterjet machining and materials engineering technology. AWC is a spin off of our sister company Material Innovations Inc (MII) that specializes in advanced composite design and engineering, testing, and manufacturing. Both companies are co-located under one roof and leverage from each other in terms of manufacturing and engineering research and development. AWC was spun off of MII in 2001 to focus on commercial and job shop services for both local and nationwide industries. AWC's staff history and technical capability is traced back to its initial roots starting back in 1981 from which MII was initially formed.

AWC's mission is to provide low cost manufacturing and cutting services to our commercial and government customer base. AWC is recognized for extensive technology development in pushing the waterjet technology to new levels. Particularly, AWC has emphasized Precision Waterjet machining techniques. AWC has been a leader in precision cutting down to +/- 0.0015" since early 2001. Many waterjet OEMs now produce machine hardware based on early strides and advances that occurred at AWC. AWC has one of the largest known non-OEM databases on waterjet machining processes which are used to properly setup the dynamic waterjet machine tool. This results in extended capability for cutting exotic materials such as ceramics and cost reduction for machining all types of materials including typical metals and plastics. AWC's advances in waterjet technology bring added capability to our customers at a competitive price point.
